Not bad, not bad at all! The new Velvet Revolver sounds good. “She Builds Quick Machines” is from their new album Libertad. Great to see that Slash is again using his hat. It reminds me the good old days of Gun’s and Roses.
Damn, Scott Weiland sounds also good! They say, Duff McKagan asked Scott at gym to join Velvet Revolver. Scott had just broken up with Stone Temple Pilots and had been arrested on his birthday after a traffic collision. I’m glad that Scott joined Velvet Revolver. His voice definately fits with Revolver’s sound.
My previous post discussed about The 69 Eyes, a Finnish gothic metal band. Here’s one more video from them, Betty Blue. I consider this song as one of their best ones. Jyrki, the singer, has an amazingly unique low voice. It fits very well with the music they play. I have never seen them live. I wish I will have a change during their next tour.
The 69 Eyes is an interesting rock band from Finland. They are considered as sleaze rock and glam rock band, not forgeting gothic rock and gothic metal. They are quite popular in Finland and a little bit abroad as well. In 2005 they played almost 100 gigs in 15 countries which I consider pretty good. Their first tour in US was done 2006. The 69 Eyes co-operates with Bam Margera, as it can be seen in this video. I hope this co-operation will provide them more attention. I like this band and their music. It would be nice to see them becoming international stars.
Apocalyptica played in the Eurovision 2007 song contest which was held in Finland last spring. A couple of days ago I posted two videos of Apocalyptica, so let’s continue the same direction. This video was filmed during the opening of the Eurovision song contest. It is pretty funny to see such headbanging in the Eurovision song contest. Actually guys remind me Amon Amarth
I am glad to see metal music entering the most boring contest on Earth, the Eurovision contest. It makes only good for the contest. For more great Apocalyptica songs, check out their video Nothing Else Matters.

Saturday morning glory.. Let’s go back in time, back to 80’s. What was the best way to drive your parents nuts on those days? By listening to Iron Maiden damn loud. Yeah, right. Parents are parents. They never understand good music I am an old fart nowadays, I’ve got kids. Our oldest son is already 13 years old (holy shit! I’m old!) and he enjoys 50 cent and that kind of stuff. I mean that rap stuff and so on. I listen to various music genres but rap is just something I have never understood. I’ve got nothing against it but it just doesn’t kick my ass. So, I keep on giving my daily treatment to our son. I call it “death metal therapy”. As he listens to 50-what-ever-cents in upstairs with volume 5, I listen to Arch Enemy in downstairs with volume 10. And in a car.. always death metal. Sometimes a bit of trash metal. That’s the way we go..
Back to the topic. As a kid I was a huge fan of Iron Maiden. In my opinnion this is one of the best songs from their “Seventh Son Of The Seventh Son” album. Here’s Infinite Dreams live. Check out also how Iron Maiden sounds played on the piano!
This is nothing new but I find it good, and therefore you see it here now. Here is Ozzy Osbourne interviewed by Henry Rollins. It is pretty interesting because we see Ozzy here in a bit different way. This is an insightful interview in which Ozzy discusses much about the past. The discussion after six minutes is funny. Man, Ozzy has lived through a really amazing life. I really wonder that he is still alive. As Henry says, those stories are really legendary. Check it out, it’s great!
This is not metal music so let’s call this post as an off-topic post.
Man, I don’t know who this guy is and if he plays in any band, but I must post this video. I came across with this video already a year ago while surfing in YouTube. Well, what can I say? Darren rocks! He is absolutely awesome! Darren, I give all the points I can ever give. The simplicity of this song and Darren’s unique and charismatic voice make this a nice combination. Do you know Darren? Leave a comment if you know anything about him, especially if Darren has released any albums.
Heh.. when I feel like putting a bullet in my head, I sing this song from Sentenced.. just kidding, man. Sentenced was a band (they are already burried) who wrote suicide lyrics. They were good at putting the northern misery and sorrow into their music. Yeah, we Finns are somehow downhearted people, at least when compared to some other cultures such as latin. Anyhow, Sentenced made music that kicks some asses. I rank them pretty high and I listen to them quite often. Check out their albums and other stuff from our e-shop. I recommend you “The Funeral Album”, “Crimson”, “Story” and “Buried Alive” DVD. They are diamonds.
For those who are interested in Nirvana and Kurt Cobain, here’s an interesting video talking about the last 48 hours of Kurt. I am not going to say a word of what really happened to Kurt. That is an endless discussion and I don’t want to join it. For me Kurt was a great artist who wrote lyrics that I like. Kurt and Nirvana played a big role in my youth and even today I listen to Nirvana every now and then. They made music that lasts decades.
This is the first part of the document. Check out the rest from Youtube by yourself.
My previous post discussed about Children Of Bodom working with their new album in the studio. They write a diary in the Internet, but there is actually video material also available. Heh.. what a nightmare for the producer
