as much as i agree with justice being their best album, why do asian and some europeans call it 'trash' metal when it's really called 'thrash' - are they missing an 'r' on their keyboard in some places?

also, damage inc. is the last track on master of puppets; maybe you're confusing it with dyers eve, the last track on justice, which is probably my favourite tallica song.

anyway, quite good piece, metal up your ass

That's right, Scott. Thanks for commenting. What, in my opinnion, makes And Justice For All so good, is those difficult and multi-layered parts in tracks (Sorry my lousy English, cannot find good words..). I'm trying to say that there so many great hooks, unexpected things and melodies in that album, as well as in the two previous ones, and those do not exist much in Black and later albums. Those things in Master and Justice as well as Ride make the albums long-lasting. Great ones!

You're right Scott, Metallica wanted to try new sounds. They were experimenting. Additionally trash metal was dying in early 90's when grunge came from Seattle.

Thanks for visiting, man. I'll wait for your review, sounds interesting. I have also hundreds of great new bands in my MySpace network, so I'll write reviews of some of them soon. Right now it's damn busy at work and I have to work at nights..

Right on, man. I love And Justice For All, as well. I like the snap of the snare and the pounding of the bass drum. My favorite Metallica is Master Of Puppets though. But you can see how Metallica evolved over the years and went from an early 80's thrash metal band to a more mature metal band with 'Justice and started going down hill to a more rock feel from there.

I don't get over here often enough. I spend too much time on my own blog and not enough time reading others and gather insight like this.

I just got a new CD to review from Prosthetic Records. A Japanese band called Grief OF War. Talk about thrash! Keep an eye out for my review of these guys, they are amazing and bring back the old school thrash feel.
