American band Slipknot has announced that they are going to change their masks. The band has released a picture giving a hint of the new masks that will be published first time in Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival in July 9th. in Seattle. New masks of Slipknot are pretty big and remind Moai of Ploynesian island Rapa Nui (Easter island).
In addition to changing their masks, Slipknot is going to release their new album in August 11th. this year. The new album has no name yet, but it will be distributed by Roadrunner Records. The producer of the new album, Dave Fortman, has previously worked with Mudvayne and Evanescence.
Slipknot’s Shawn “Clown” Crahan (percussions) has told Revolver magazine that the new album of Slipknot is completely different from Vol 3, which was their third studio album. Vol 3 sounds more melodic than its predecessors, so let’s see how the new album will sound. Vol 3 album was the first Slipknot album without “Parental Advisory” sticker.
Slipknot has enjoyed a long break since they ended Vol 3 tour in 2005. During the years members of the band have had their various side-projects. For example, Slipknots singer Corey Taylor sings in Apocalyptica’s World Collide album.
So, Slipknot is evolving. It is interesting see how the band will look with their new masks. I am also looking forward to listen to their new material. I have almost forgotten the whole band due to their silence. Hey! It is time to get back to work on stage, Slipknot!

It was the first without the Parental advisory but I do think it had some four letter words in it. I could be wrong and perhaps I just never paid much attention. I should know this but I’m not sure. I listenend to it for about a year straight when it came out.
In my opinion every new Slipknot record has evolved better each time. We’ll see what this one brings us. I’ll see them for the first time August 1st.
Since day one it has always been about the music, not what they look like, but the masks are like a trademark for them. we’re not saying that it is a bad thing, but it may hurt them in a way. We say this because the maggots have such strong connections to the band, and with that dramatic of a change some of the fans may not apreciate the difference. For example, with Metallica, when they made one of their albums some of their fans did not respnd to it the same because it was a difference in the change of their music. The fans did not agree because they were not used to the “new” Metallica. it is related in a manner to the new masks, bescause their maggots have such strong passion and love for them that the fans could easily take all of that love that they have for slipknot and turn it into a very strong dislike.
So, what we are saying is that the fans may not appreciate the decision that the band is going to make. Some of the reasons that we say this is because we ourselves see the change that it is going to make, from the point of veiw of the fans.

slipknot has changed between iowa and vol. 3 and you can tell the masks for the new album are drawn so expect big things
whats was the matter with the other masks dont get me wrong these do look evil but the other masks is what freaked people out.
