Motley Crue: The Saints of Los Angeles - Still Going Strong

Oh boy, I listened to Motley Crue days and nights back in the 1980’s. As a small town kid I dreamed of rockstar lifestyle and considered Vince Neil as my idol. Oh yes, that was me as 12 years old. Later on I realized that may be Vince Neil is not the best role model for kids ?

Motley Crue practically died after their Dr. Feelgood album and Motley dudes became serious alcoholics and addicts. Just like many other 80’s glam rock bands, also Motley Cree did their comeback in 2005. If I Die Tomorrow didn’t sound like classic Motley Crue songs, like Looks That Kill, Wild Side, Dr. Feelgood and Kickstart My Heart. Anyhow, Motley Crue’s comeback single was not lousy, but not stunning either. Although Motley dudes have their difficulties to come along with each others, the good point is that they are back.

After releasing If I Die Tomorrow I thought “ok, that’s it. Guys are too old to continue as a band..”. I was wrong. Motley Crue has now released a new single called The Saint of Los Angeles and a full album will be released in June 2008. Right on, Motley!

I haven’t followed Motley Crue for a while, so I found their new music video by accident. I thought “what the heck, new music from Motley..”. After listening the first couple of minutes I made my conclusion. This sounds good. Motley Crue is still going strong!

Motley Crue’s The Saints of Los Angeles is a good glam rock song. It has a pretty good tune and Vince’s voice sounds like back in the 80’s. The beginning of the song has similar elements as those in Dr. Feelgood album, which I consider their second best album. Oh, which one is the best one? Shout At The Devil, if you ask me.

How about the video? Well, I’m not sure if I like it. It is a bit boring, and they have used lots of effect I have such as very slow motion walking. Those remind me rap-videos and I just can’t stand rap-videos. Anyhow, The Saints of Los Angeles sounds good and is a pretty good video from Motley Crüe!

Hey, what do you think of Motley Crue’s new video?
