Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine Interviewed After Their Concert in Helsinki in Finland

Dave MustaineMegadeth played in Helsinki in Finland just few days ago. During their stay in Helsinki Dave Mustaine was interviewed by Finnish music reporter. In this 17 minutes long video Dave Mustaine praises Finland and talks about the TV series “24“, charity, Megadeth’s lineup changes, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, etc. In Helsinki Megadeth played with new guitarist Chris Broderick.

It is interesting how Dave Mustaine praises Finland. As a Finn I find this flattering, but I could give Dave a list of few things that are not so well here in Finland. Anyhow, it was funny to hear how surprised Dave Mustaine was when he realized that the sun does not set in Finland in mid-summer. As you listen to Dave you feel like he has a warm heart and he is much interested in charity and taking care of other people. That’s a nice thing but it makes me thinking is Dave just heroic or is this tactic image building or has he really changed that much from Metallica times when he was nothing but egoistic and selfish.

Interesting Link #2 - Music and Other Videos From VidSearchLive

Somebody please shoot my boss. Ok, just kidding.. I am receiving way too much work. I find myself bringing work to home which is not good at all. In addition I have not enough time to write my music blog. Great.

Yesterday I wrote how you can easily download usic from MusicMP3.Ru. I found out that they have absolutely ridicculous prices, which makes me thinking if it is legal to download from there. Well, I do not know. I need to find it out.

Internet is a great place to surf when you are overloaded with your work and you just don’t want to do that %&$#@! anymore. Today I continued my “link hunting” and stumbled upon one interesting website. So, I wanted to share this link again. This blog is about metal music and metal music videos. I watch band videos every now and then and post here the videos I like. I use mostly YouTube, but today I found a website I probably will use from now on. It looks pretty cool, check it out in VidSearchLive.

VidSearchLive.net is an internet Video Search Engine that scans YouTube, MySpace, MetaCafe, Veoh & Yahoo all from one location. This is the feature I like! I don’t need to have all those websites open in order to search videos from a certain band. For example, I searched for Megadeth’s videos and below you see the result.

Megadeth’s new video is pretty good, eh? Dave’s voice is better than ever. Awesome!

So, I really like this site I found because I can now find faster what I am looking for. Additionally the site gives you the ability to link to videos from content on your own site as well has view videos at multiple resolutions up to 1280×1024 in a window. Website also learns the type of videos you are looking for and quickly displays similar videos that maybe of interest to you. Open feeds from all video archives also shows the most recently added videos on all respective networks in real-time.

Good website, I like. What do you think? May be it is a little bit simple, but it clearly seems to be a new website. I think it will become popular because it very useful.

The Very Best Trash Metal Album of All Time

I was thinking today, which trash metal album is the best of all time? Which album has generally been ranked as the best trash metal album of all time? You might think that it is not possible to say which one is the best one, while someone would say Metallica’s Master of Puppets is the best one. Is it the best one? Or is it Slayer’s Reign in Blood? Difficult question, eh?

There are many ways to “measure” which one is the best trash metal album of all time. Some people say the best one is the one that has sold the most, while others get furious for such a statements. Some folks say the best album is the fastest one, while others would say the best album is the one including heaviest riffs and sounds. There are many ways to approach this question, but let’s first think about the candidates.

master.jpgFor myself Metallica’s Ride The Lightning is an important milestone because, even though it might sound funny, with that album I discovered trash metal. Anyhow, Metallica’s Master of Puppets was so much better album that I personally consider Master of Puppets as a very good candidate. There were naturally many other bands as well, not just metallica. Slayer’s Reign in Blood has been considered by many people as the best trash metal album of all time. Slayer’s album was very very fast in 1980’s, and it is definitely a legendary album, a classic.

reign.jpgThe world is not that small. Metallica was getting very popular in the middle of 80’s, but there were other great bands as well. Good candidates for the “competition” are Testament’s The Legacy, Dark Angels Darkness Descends, Anthrax Among The Living, Exodus Bonded By Blood, Megadeth’s Rust In Peace, Kreator’s Pleasure To Kill, Slayer’s Hell Awaits and Metallica’s Ride The Lightning. Do you think one of these albums is the trash metal album of all time?

There have been a number of polls and surveys to find the best trash metal album of all time. Terrorizer magazine did this in 2003 and the result was that Slayer’s Reign In Blood won. Anyhow, people like what they like. We all have our own best albums, and my personal opinnion is that Metallica’s Master Of Puppets is the trash metal album of all time. Reign In Blood is a fast album, but I personally like very much those heavy riffs and melodies of Master Of Puppets. So, which are the killer tracks in that album? What makes it the best album? Three superb tracks are Welcome Home, Orion and Damage Inc. Ok, I just gotta mention also Leper Messiah, the track that has definitely the best lyrics in the album.

What is your opinnion?

Megadeth has released a new album, called United Abominations, and it is in stores right now. Band itself claims that the new album sounds like the classic Megadeth albums. The new album raises both positive and negative feedback. Some people praise the new album, while some others claim that it is one just one more reason to hate Megadeth. Well, I do not agree with those who do not like. Personally I do not like much A Tout Le Mond, but the new song, Never Walk Alone, absolutely rocks! I really like the riff in the new song, and Dave’s voice is just great. If I just do not care about A Tout Le Monde, the whole album is a good package of good old Megadeth music. See the album content below.

1. Sleepwalker
2. Washington Is Next!
3. Never Walk Alone…A Call to Arms
4. United Abominations
5. Gears of War
6. Blessed Are the Dead
7. Play for Blood
8. À Tout Le Monde
9. Amerikhastan
10. You’re Dead
11. Burnt Ice
12. Out on the Tiles (Led Zeppelin -cover)

All in all, Megadeth still goes strong. I got interested in the new album and I hope I will get it as a Christmas present :) If you are interested in purchasing the new Megadeth album, just click the link below and place an order in Amazon. Check out also the old classic albums!

Megadeth - À Tout Le Monde

New Megadeth song sounds pretty good! Mustane still rocks! Yeah, good music, but it doesn’t beat Pantera.
