I knew this will happen. Teräsbetoni won the national Eurovision qualification with their song “Missä Miehet Ratsastaa”. Teräsbetoni got almost 40% of all the votes and therefore will represent Finland in the Eurovision song contest. Some weeks ago I wrote how Teräsbetoni is competing to represent Finland, and I mentioned that I consider this more like a joke. Lordi won the contest because they were so different and got lots of attention with their funny outfit. I cannot believe that another metal or rock band can win again. If Teräsbetoni will do it, the whole contest should be renamed to “EuroMetal” or something.

Check out the video below. It is from the finals of the national qualification to the Eurovision song contest 2008. Teräsbetoni plays their “Missä Miehet Ratsastaa” to Finnish audience. This band will represent Finland with this song in the Eurovision song contest 2008. Come on.. Aren’t we sick and tired with mighty warriors and swordsmen? As I mentioned in my previous post related to Teräsbetoni, I really appreciate and even admire Jarkko Ahola’s singing skills. His talents should be shown in other arenas than Eurovision song contest. Jarkko Ahola did great job by singing in Northern Kings album, and I really enjoy him singing “I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight“. Anyhow, this “Missä Miehet Ratsastaa” is bullshit. Ok, it’s a show. As music it gives me nothing.

Well, who am I talking about the Eurovision song contest? I really don’t know much about it and I am not even interested in it. When I heard that Teräsbetoni is competing, I got interested to write about it. Even though I consider “Missä Miehet Rastastaa” as a joke, I hope Teräsbetoni will win the contest. They represent my homeland and for sure it would be great for Finland to win. I just feel like Teräsbetoni belongs to other arenas. If they win, they will for sure get lots of attention, which means a good income for the guys of Teräsbetoni. If you are going to watch the Eurovision song contest, remember to vote for Teräsbetoni!

Oh no.. what should I say? I feel ashamed. Teräsbetoni, The Manowar Of Finland, is competing in the national pre-selection for Eurovision song contest. They are going to play their track “Missä miehet ratsastaa” which is composed by Jarkko Ahola, singer of the band. Teräsbetoni will perform their show in February 22nd. and it can be seen in TV2 Finnish television channel. Jarkko Ahola is also known from Northern Kings.

First there was Lordi, now Teräsbetoni. I know Teräsbetoni is a show and the Eurovision song contest is just a joke, but still I feel like Teräsbetoni representing Finland in an international arena is not a good idea. Just see the video below. Would you allow these dudes to represent your country? I might be old-fashioned, but I find this is ridiculous. If you understand Finnish, listen to Orjatar from Teräsbetoni and you know what I mean. By the way, Orjatar has a good guitar riff, but the lyrics suck.

I respect Jarkko Ahola as a singer. He has talents and a pretty good voice, as you can hear in Northern Kings track I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight. He sings well, but Teräsbetoni’s show makes me feel ashamed. Some folks love this kind of glorious music, and I must say I like artists like Luca Turilli, but not this stuff. No way! “Metal truth”, “The mightiest power”, “Swords”, “Brotherhood, honour, truth”.. Oh no.. what else?

Well, there is the other side of the coin as well. May be Teräsbetoni should make it to Eurovision song contest and be victorious. At least it would be helluva funny show. I have a better idea. Let’s unite Teräsbetoni and Turisas and send them to Eurovision song contest. That would give us a double-laugh.
