Australian Vanishing Point - New Album and a Video From Vanishing Point

Vanishing Point LogoFor long long time I have not got as good kicks from power or progressive metal music as I got when I discovered Australian band Vanishing Point. This great power metal group, Vanishing Point, comes from Melbourne, Australia. They have released four albums from which the latest one on this year. Vanishing Point was a good finding for me and I will order all four albums for sure.

Vanishing Point FlyerI am not going to tell the whole history of Vanishing Point because it is already available in Wikipedia. Instead I would like to mention few interesting things about the band. The band has been founded back in 1990’s by vocalist Silvio Massaro, keyboards player Pep Sammartino, guitarists Chris Porcianko and Tom Vucur, drummer Jack Lukic and bassist Joel Del Mastro. The first album was released in 1996, but around 2000 they started to gain some real attention after supporting Yngwie Malmsteen, Nevermore, Sonata Arctica, Gamma Ray and Edguy. The band has played in big stages, such as Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, which has definitely provided more attention and new fans. In this year Vanishing Point has supported DragonForce in their Australian tour.

Vanishing Point plays good old power metal with progressive style. I enjoy high and loud, fine guitar solos and drumming as well as really good and beatiful solos. A special thank you for the band for those nice keyboard solos and instrumental sounds. I cannot say much about the lyrics yet because I have just recently discovered this band. I need a little more time to read through the lyrics. I might get back to this and write about the lyrics, but let’s first complete this one. For more good power metal, I recommend you to read my posts of Finnish band Stratovarius.

Check out the Vanishing Point albums and other stuff in Headbanger’s shop. I recommend purchasing the latest album, The Fourth Season. Here are the songs covered in The Fourth Season. By the way, check out the cover artwork of this band. Those are just stunning covers! I really enjoy Vanishing Point’s cover art. There are no mp3’s of Vanishing Point available in Amazon, but all the albums you can easily order from there.
